1. The Nature of This Reference
Petaluma Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning Petaluma, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with an office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Acceptable and Prohibited Use
Use the service only in a lawful manner. You may not use it or a linked result to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
- Locate someone covered by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft, fraud, or another offense
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, housing, tenant, or insurance decisions
- Scrape, republish, or copy the pages at scale
- Disrupt, probe, or interfere with operation or security
3. No Consumer Reports
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following sections. Content here, and results returned by a linked search tool, are not consumer reports. They may not be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. External Services
Government records portals, the Sonoma court portal, library databases, archives, and sponsored search services set their own terms, prices, availability, and data practices. Petaluma Residents Directory does not control those outside services and is not responsible for them.
5. No Warranty
The service is supplied on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No warranty promises that a page, link, record description, or result is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record found through it.
7. Your Responsibility to Indemnify
You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, damages, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
8. Ownership of Original Material
The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Brief quotations with attribution and ordinary links are welcome. Full-page republication or systematic copying is not permitted.
9. Revisions
These terms may be revised by posting a new version. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Access Restrictions
The operators may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service. That action may occur without advance notice.
11. California Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Public-record references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, including the determination rule in section 7922.535. The CPRA does not override voter-record restrictions or statutes that restrict DMV, vital, juvenile, adoption, or sealed-court information.
12. Severability
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
